Storm preparation
Prepare now for storms, floods, and landslides, as floods remain the most common natural hazard in the U.S., and recent wildfires have heightened the risk of landslides and debris flows this storm season. These events can cause significant property damage, utility outages, and even loss of life. To stay safe, review and update your emergency supply kit, create a family emergency plan, assist neighbors in getting prepared, pick up sandbags if needed, and sign up for emergency alerts to stay informed about hazards in your area. Planning ahead can make all the difference—stay safe and be prepared!
