NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
FOR
OPERATED
EQUIPMENT RENTAL CONTRACT
Sealed proposals will
be received at the office of the Director of the
Department of Transportation and Public Works, Room
117A, 575 Administration Drive, Santa
Rosa, California 95403, until the hour of 3:00 p.m., on November
28, 2001.
The contractor shall possess a California Class A
license at the time proposal is submitted.
RFPs and proposal forms
for this project can only be obtained at the Sonoma County
Department of Transportation and Public Works, 575
Administration Drive, Room 117A, Santa Rosa, California
95403, upon payment of a non-refundable printing service
charge in the following amount:
RFP and proposal forms = $10.00
(including sales tax)
Checks shall be made
payable to the County of Sonoma, and shall be mailed or
delivered in person to the Department of Transportation
and Public Works.
Questions must be
provided in writing no later than 7 days prior to the
final date of acceptance of proposals. Written questions
should be directed to Susan Klassen,
Refuse Operations Manager at the Department of

Pursuant to Section
1770 and following of the Labor Code, the general
prevailing rate of wages has been determined by the
Director of the California Department of Industrial
Relations. Proposers should contact the Department of
Industrial Relations at (415) 703-4774 for General
Prevailing Wage Rates on specific job classifications.
Future effective wage rates which have been predetermined
are on file with the California Department of Industrial
Relations and are referenced but not printed in the
General Prevailing Wage Rates. Proposers are advised that
if they intend to use a craft or classification not on
file on the general wage determinations, they may be
required to pay the wage rate of that craft or
classification most closely related to it as shown in the
general determinations.
Successful Contractor
must comply with all requirements in the RFP to be
considered in the evaluation process. Transportation and
Public Works reserves the right to negotiate a contract
with any Contractor. Transportation and Public Works
reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to
waive any defect or irregularity in a proposal.
Transportation and Public Works further reserves the right
to award the contract to the Contractor(s) which in
Transportation and Public Works' judgement will best serve
the needs of the residents of Sonoma County. Any contract
negotiated with the Transportation and Public Works is
invalid until it has the approval of the County Board of
Supervisors.
