Donations
Through the Regional Parks Foundation the public can help expand, preserve and support our growing county park system. Donations to the Foundation will be used to:
- Acquire and develop parklands.
- Restore native plant communities, remove non-native plants and protect the environment for native wildlife.
- Enhance trails, picnic areas and other visitor facilities.
- Expand the existing volunteer program for the department.
- Develop, expand and improve park operations and services, e.g., visitor centers, docent programs, and environmental education and interpretation programs for children and youth.
- Finance special projects in keeping with the fund's purpose.
Many park visitors enjoy Foundation funded projects. The Elizabeth Anne Perrone Dog Park is one such project. Through the fundraising efforts of members of the community and the Foundation this off-leash dog park was constructed in Sonoma Valley Regional Park. The construction of the facility as well as several upgrades were all made possible through donations to the Foundation. Volunteers now play a key role in maintaining the facility.
