Central Sonoma Valley Bikeway Larson Park to Highway 12
This is the first phase of a multi phased project as described in the Central Sonoma Valley Bikeway Plan Final Report dated November 15, 2001. The report identified a 2.76-mile conceptual bike/pedestrian pathway from Verano Avenue to Agua Caliente Road in the Sonoma Valley area. Please see Figure 3 titled “Preferred Alignment”. The pathway would provide pedestrians and bicyclists an alternative route to Highway 12.
For the first phase, the proposed pathway starts at Larson Park which is owned by the County, continues through Flowery Elementary School, and ends at Highway 12. Please see aerial plan titled “Central Sonoma Valley Bikeway – Phase 1”. An easement would need to be acquired from the Sonoma Valley Unified School District. The proposed schedule of work includes the following: 1) perform topographic and boundary survey of Flowery Elementary School and Larson Park, 2) negotiate easement with Sonoma Valley Unified School District, 3) complete environmental documents, 4) construct pathway.
The project is funded by TDA (Transportation Development Act) Article 3 and Measure M funds.
