The mission of the Human Resources Training Division is to enhance the capacity of each County worker to provide effective and efficient services.

HR Training provides training and development programs that support and challenge County of Sonoma employees at all levels. This includes professional skills development, mandated training, and leadership development programs that help employees provide the highest level of service in their current jobs while allowing them to look ahead to future opportunities. Each year over 3,000 participants attend more than 100 classes offered by HR Training.

The training team also manages the County’s volunteer, employee recognition, and public awareness programs. These activities provide opportunities for citizens to personally engage in County services, provide motivation and incentives for the County’s paid and non-paid workers, and inform the public of how their tax investment is being used to support and enhance the reasons why we all choose to live and work here in Sonoma County.
