Volunteer Opportunities

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available throughout Sonoma County. From The Center for HIV Prevention and Care and The Commission on AIDS, to community-based agencies and local congregations - we all need your help!

Use your imagination, and market your unique skills. Contact any of these groups with your ideas of how you can contribute.

Face to Face: 707-544-1581
This agency provides transportation to medical appointments, and offers buddy programs, office support, and housing search assistance.

Food for Thought: 707-887-1647
This agency provides food delivery and food bank services.

Sonoma County Commission on AIDS: 707-565-6683

Sunburst Projects: 707-588-9477
This agency provides child care and summer camps.

HIV/AIDS Prevention Program: 707-565-6615
This Department of Health Services Prevention and Planning program coordinates planning and evaluation for HIV prevention activities and administers HIV prevention funds through a network of community-based agencies.

Other places and ways to consider volunteering: Health education committees at local schools, your church or temple's home care or education group, community health clinics (Russian River Health Center, Occidental Area Health Center, Southwest Area Clinic, Sonoma Valley Clinic--check your phone book for listings), Parents, Friends, and Families of Lesbians and Gays, hospice programs.
