If you believe you are having a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, it is important for you to let your doctor know:

• Shortness of breath, especially with cough and/or a fever.
• Cough, especially with a fever and/or difficulty breathing.
• Diarrhea that doesn't go away, especially with a fever or blood in your stool.
• Unplanned weight loss of more that 10 pounds in a month.
• Fevers of 101º or more that don't go away.
• Being tired all the time or having no energy without an explanation.
• Headaches that do not go away, especially if combined with fever.
• Numbness or tingling in your feet or hands.
• Problems with memory, speech, concentration, or coordination.
• Spontaneous or easy bruising, bleeding gums, or nosebleeds.
• Newly enlarged lymph glands (armpits, neck, groin).
• Skin problems that don't go away (rashes, sores, etc.)
• Any sudden or unexplained change in your health.
• Serious depression that won't go away.
• Thoughts of suicide or harming yourself.
• Reason to believe you have been exposed to a sexually transmitted infection.

Services: The Center for HIV Prevention and Care of the County of Sonoma, Department of Health Services, Public Health Division, is a resource for HIV medical expertise in Northern California and helps clients and local medical providers keep abreast of the latest developments in HIV treatments. Services: A team of 6 physicians provides HIV primary medical care at the Santa Rosa facility. Coordination and consultation on the medical, social, and psychological needs of HIV-positive patients are provided by a diverse team of specialists, including: Social Workers, Nutritionists, Nurses, Health Educators, Pharmacists, Benefits Counselors, Discharge Planner, Psychologist and HIV Specialty Physicians.

The Russian River and Occidental Area Health Centers are part of West County Health Centers. They serve the populations of West Sonoma County and provide comprehensive medical care for people living with HIV.

• Nursing case management services for people living with HIV/AIDS - available by RRHC physician referral only.
