HIV/AIDS Services: Advocacy, Development, Planning and Prescription Drug Information

The AIDS Drug Assistance provides prescription drug benefits to persons with HIV/AIDS. Persons with no access or limited access to prescriptions may qualify. The ADAP program is currently operated both through the Center for HIV Prevention and Care and Kaiser Permanente. Kaiser Permanente plan members can access ADAP through the Kaiser HIV Consult Team.

Eligibility: Persons with HIV/AIDS with Federal Adjusted Gross Incomes (AGI) of less than $50,000 annually are eligible. Some persons may have a co-payment obligation. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a resident of the State of California. Must not eligible for Veterans Benefits.

Provides referrals to AIDS/HIV services throughout the state of California. Hotline volunteers respond to calls covering a range of HIV related issues in English and Spanish. Offers counseling, referrals, risk assessments and peer counseling.

County of Sonoma Commission on AIDS
An advisory body to the County Board of Supervisors, the Commission also serves as the HIV CARE Consortium to fund local HIV/AIDS programs. Meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:15 p.m.

The HIV Advocacy Network (HAN) is the grassroots community-organizing program of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation's (SFAF) Public Policy Department. HAN organizes HIV service providers, AIDS advocates, and persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in Northern California to provide legislative action and public policies, which address the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH).

The PPG gathers input from constituencies throughout the community in the development and design of HIV prevention strategies. The Program conducts training and education on HIV prevention for the general public, professionals, and community volunteers.
