Project ReConnect Tool Kit
This toolkit was created to assist communities in addressing the changing needs of people living with HIV/AIDS.
With the widespread use of anti-retroviral drugs, people are living longer and able to enjoy more productive lives. As HIV/AIDS has shifted from a terminal to a chronic disease, the needs of consumers have changed substantially. On the one hand, consumers are seeking out opportunities to re-engage in their communities through education and work and they are seeking out services to address other issues they face. On the other hand, the broader community must prepare to welcome those living with HIV/AIDS into the work place and into community systems.
The intention of Project ReConnect is to build bridges that bring the two together. This toolkit will provide a starting point for other communities who want to follow this lead.
