Commission on AIDS: Distinguished Service Awards

In just one generation, the HIV epidemic has transformed American society and the world, changing from an unknown disease to one which virtually every person on the planet has heard about. Here in Sonoma County, we have seen enormous changes in the epidemic as well, and this year's Awardees represent the range of Sonoma County's response to those changes.

The Sonoma County Commission on AIDS Distinguished Service Awards are given every other year. We acknowledge and celebrate the dedication of individuals and groups assisting persons living with HIV disease. The recipients receive an official proclamation from the County Board of Supervisors that acknowledges their accomplishments. The awards are presented at a public meeting of the Board of Supervisors in early May.
