Mission Statement
The Sonoma County Commission on AIDS is committed to assisting the community of Sonoma County to develop and implement an efficient HIV strategy plan that addresses prevention, treatment, care, and assures the preservation of human rights.
Commission Meetings
The Commission on AIDS meets every other month at 475 Aviation Blvd. in Santa Rosa (map this location).
Interested members of the public are welcome at all Commission meetings. Each meeting includes time for public comment.

Committee Meetings
Interested members of the public are welcome at all committee meetings. Each meeting includes time for public comment.
Business Committee
The Business Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise indicated below, at 4:00 p.m. at the DHS Conference Center, 475 Aviation Blvd., in Santa Rosa. This committee sets the agenda for the Commission, and reviews membership and administrative issues.

People with AIDS Advocacy Committee/ReConnect Action Committee (PAC/RAC)
The PAC/RAC Committee meets the first Thursday of every month, unless otherwise indicated below, at 3:30 p.m. at 499 Humboldt Street in Santa Rosa. This dual committee promots greater involvement in the planning process for persons living with HIV/AIDS, and addresses their social, emotional, educational and vocational needs to help them take positive steps that lead to satisfying, meaningful, and healthy lives.

Community Relations Committee
The Community Relations committee meets monthly at 499 Humboldt Street in Santa Rosa. The epidemic has changed a great deal over time, and the perception in the larger community may not reflect this change. The Community Relations committee has the task of increasing the visibility of HIV within the larger Sonoma County community.

Services Committee
The Services Committee meets on the third Thursday of every other month, unless otherwise indicated below, at 12:30 p.m. at 499 Humboldt Street in Santa Rosa. This committee reviews the system of care in Sonoma County for quality assurance, and makes recommendations to the Commission on AIDS and the fiscal agent.

World AIDS Day Task Force
The World AIDS Day task force meets in Santa Rosa. The task force works with local partners to develop a countywide series of events for World AIDS Day.

HIV Prevention Planning Group
The HIV Prevention Planning Group (PPG) meets quarterly on the third Thursday of the month at 3:00 p.m. at the DHS Conference Center, Guild Hall in Santa Rosa (map this location). This committee reviews and assesses HIV/AIDS prevention programs in the community and develops and implements strategies to increase knowledge and awareness of HIV/AIDS.

The PPG meeting schedule below will eliminate the December 18th and April 16th meetings that were previously scheduled when we met on alternate months.
August 14th - At this meeting we will review local and national epidemiology and focus on HIV trends.
October 16th - At this meeting we will focus on national and local best practices for prevention.
February 19th - At this meeting we will highlight the work of local HIV prevention providers.
June 18th - At this meeting we will review the current services that are being provided and look to planning next steps.
