Fire Services: Training and SOP
The
mission of the Fire Services Training Program is to provide
progressive training and education to the volunteer fire companies
concurrent with legal requirements and recognized standards.
The Fire Division develops and delivers monthly training to the
15 volunteer fire companies comprising County Service Area #40
through a cadre of extra-help instructors who are experienced
fire and emergency medical professionals. They provide basic firefighting,
first aid, CPR and hazardous material training as well as other
state and federal mandated training.
In addition, they offer an as-needed 40-hour new volunteer fire
academy as well as occasional workshops, seminars and live fire
exercises designed to enhance the minimum training standards.
First aid and CPR training is also offered to other County departments
for a nominal fee.
Sonoma County DES is a CEU provider for Volunteers of the CSA#40 Fire Service Area. Every calendar year specified training will be shown on the individual VFC training calendar. Review the CEU program guideline for information and requirements.
