How this Happens

A Non-welfare Case
A custodial party fills out an application requesting the services of Child Support. When he/she signs the application, an agreement is made that they will cooperate and that all child support collected will be processed through Child Support.

A Welfare Case
When a custodial party is applying for cash aid or Medi-Cal, they are seen in one of our satellite offices which we refer to as our Co-Locate Offices. The custodial party is interviewed to obtain all the information necessary to open the case which is opened at the offsite office.

A UIFSA Case
A petition is received from the state in which the custodial party resides requesting that we open a case and file the necessary legal documents to proceed with establishing and/or enforcing an order.
