What will happen if I just don't pay?
Answer
Failure to provide financial support harms your children and builds up
debt for you. It is the DCSS's responsibility to collect child support
and enforce orders for support and health insurance. Some of the tools
for the enforcement of support orders include, But are not limited to:
- Wage and Earnings Assignment Orders
- Wage Garnishments
- Health Insurance Coverage Assignment Orders
- Intercept of State and Federal Tax Refunds, Unemployment/Disability
Payments, Lottery Winnings.
- Order to Show Cause re Contempt
- State Licensing Match System
- Writs of Execution
- Order for judgement Debtor Examination
- Support Security Deposits
- Franchise Tax board Full Collection Program
- Charging Orders to Partnership
- Receiverships
- Till Taps
- Criminal Prosecution for failing to Support
