Locating non-custodial parents and/or their income and assets
It is important to provide the DCSS with as much information about the
NP's location, employment, and assets as possible. The more current information
the DCSS has, the more quickly we are able to obtain positive results
in your case. Accurate, detailed information will assist us to more promptly
assist you.
Information that can be helpful in enforcing an order:
- Always provide the NP's most recent address, phone number and place
of employment as soon as you become aware of the information.
- A business card with the NP's name on it.
- Pictures of the NP working, especially if he or she is working "under
the table" in such fields as construction, tree trimming, bartending,
etc.
- The NP's business advertisements from newspapers or periodicals.
- Description of any personal property that the NP owns, i.e., boats,
motorcycles, RVs.
- Description of any real property the NP owns.
- Name and address of the institution where the NP banks.
- The approximate date of injury and place of employment if the NP is
receiving Workers' Compensation benefits or is expecting a settlement.
- The approximate date and place of filing if the NP has sued someone.
- The county where the NP's parents reside if some type of inheritance
might be expected.
- Phone numbers of any of the NP's family members who might have useful
information.
- Name and address of any attorney representing the NP.
- The name of the union that the NP is a member of and the approximate
date of disbursement if the NP receives vacation pay.
