HIGHWAY 12 PROJECT NEWS AND UPDATES

Press release: October 14, 2008, Ground Breaking for Highway 12 Improvements in Sonoma Valley

Lots of construction is happening on Hwy. 12.  The sidewalks are being poured and paving should take place by the end of July. It is anticipated that it will take approximately one week to complete. Most of the work will be completed at night to cause the least disruption.  The signal and lighting electrical work still needs to be done. As with the paving, the traffic signal poles will be installed at night.

The Potholing Plan for Phase II has been approved; it is anticipated that the work will commence shortly. Some of the letters regarding right-of-way (ROW) appraisals have gone out which is the first step in the ROW acquisition process. Appraisal notices were sent to properties that include acquisitions with minimal impacts and less complex design issues.
